Mobility Device & Wheel Chair Accessible Seating
Guests who use mobility devices (such as but not limited to wheel chairs, either manually operated or power-driven, walkers, etc.) will find seating at the top of sections 101, 106, 107, 112, 113, 118, 119, and 124. View these sections on our seating map. The seats in these sections can easily be removed or adjusted if needed by one of our Guest Services staff and will leave enough space for guests to sit with or remain in their mobility devices.
Guests requiring accessible seating may purchase one (1) accessible seat and three (3) companion seats in the same row as the accessible seat, provided that those seats are available at the time of purchase. At least one of the three seats will be immediately adjacent to the accessible seat. Depending upon availability, seats for additional guests will be located as close as possible to the accessible space. This policy ensures that we can accommodate all those that require accessible seating.
XL Center is committed to working with patrons on a case-by-case basis to adequately accommodate individual needs. All ticket sales and exchanges are on a first-come/call, first-serve basis and will depend on ticket availability. There is no guarantee that any companion tickets will remain unsold and available. Service Animals/Guide Dogs
Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.
In addition to the provisions about service dogs, the Department’s revised ADA regulations have a new, separate provision about miniature horses that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Miniature horses generally range in height from 24 inches to 34 inches measured to the shoulders and generally weigh between 70 and 100 pounds. In this case, the miniature horse must be housebroken and be under the control of the guest/owner while in attendance at an event in the XL Center Veterans Memorial Collesium or Exhibition Halls.
Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
Guests bringing in service animals may request accessible seating however cannot occupy additional seats unless a ticket has been purchased for the adjacent seat. Animal relief areas are available and can be requested at Guest Services, outside of section 124.
